Tom Hudson, CEO
Tom became CEO in 1983, taking over from his father and founder, John J. Hudson Sr. Having worked in various departments of the company, he brings insightful decision-making and a natural leadership.

John J. Hudson, Corporate Vice President
Working in partnership with his brother Tom, John is a key factor in employee relations and a visible face to company employees. Having grown up in the company he worked as a union driver, at dispatch and in the garage. He brings an intimate knowledge of the people and the equipment it takes to running the company.

Francis J. O’Brien, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Hudson Companies
Fran has been with the Hudson Companies since 1980, beginning in marketing and progressing to Executive Vice President, then to President, learning every aspect of the business along the way. He has built his reputation on a strength for growing the business and vision in helping launch new ventures. He brings Hudson Companies’ legendary “on-spec, on-time, every time” mantra of customer service to every task.

Edward R. Lodge, Jr., Senior Vice President
Ted brought his considerable financial acumen to The Hudson Companies in 1994 as CFO. He is uniquely qualified to counsel management on various financial issues and is the administrator of the Hudson Companies Retirement Plan. In 2003, he was promoted to his current position and is instrumental to the success of special projects as the company expands. He also serves as Executive Vice President of Hudson’s Asphalt Enhancement, LLC.

Matthew J. Gill, Jr., President – Hudson Asphalt Group
Matt Gill joined the Hudson Companies in 1994 bringing over 25 years of industry experience. Before joining Hudson, Matt served as Director for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. Matt also brings extensive industry knowledge from his management position held with the Gilbane Building Company. At Hudson, he is responsible for daily operations of the Hudson Asphalt Group including Hudson Liquid Asphalt, American Liquid Asphalt, Hudson Terminal Corporation, and Triram Connecticut, LLC. Matt is instrumental in the procurement of liquid asphalt from various refiners throughout the world.

Douglas E. Scala , Chief Financial Officer
Douglas was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Hudson Companies in March of 2008, and is responsible for the finance, IT, and human resource departments for the company. Most recently, Doug held the position of Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at Bank of America in Providence.
